3 Minute Demo: Does Tonewood Matter for a Solid Body Guitar?

Hello everyone and thank you so much for watching! The point of this video was to make an honest comparison between the worst possible (but still functioning) guitar body and a high quality piece of tonewood (a single piece swamp ash body). I sincerely do not have a dog in this fight, no one paid me to make this video, and no one sponsored this video.

I made this video by simply taking one set of hardware and one neck and putting them on two separate bodies, then comparing the results. Everything was set up as identically as I could possibly get them, including the action, pickup height, neck relief, etc. Each track was recorded as a DI, and the settings were left in the exact same place throughout the entire recording process.

While they were not a sponsor of this video, I do want to thank Bensonite Products for sending over a set of their bridge saddles for me to try on this build. I will be making a separate video on bridge saddles at some point soon, but I encourage you to visit their Reverb store and check out their stuff, which is all handmade here in the U.S.:
