3 Minute Demo: Can You Hear the Difference Between New and Old Strings?

While we all know that we should change our strings, I thought it would be fun to do an A-B comparison of just what new strings versus old strings sound like!

I attempted to eliminate as many outside variables as possible in the following ways: I put the new strings on the guitar and immediately recorded the "New Strings" playing segments. I then used the guitar for one month every day for at least one hour per day. After that month ended, I recorded the same licks using the same (now month old) strings. All of the recording was DI, and then I reamped everything at the same time, back-to-back. In doing this, I was able to ensure that all of the settings and mics remained consistent throughout the tracking. No post-processing occurred.

Thank you all so much for watching, and I hope you enjoyed this little exercise. If you did, please consider subscribing for more content like this!
