3 Minute Demo: Tweed Champ vs. Silverface Vibro Champ

This is a comparison of a stock 1955 Fender Tweed Champ and a late 1960's Fender Bronco Amplifier. For those uninitiated folk, the Bronco amp was simply a silverface Vibro Champ that Fender relabeled in order to sell it in a beginner's bundle with the Fender Bronco Guitar.

My goal was to attempt to get the amps sounding as similar as possible on each different stage. I was not necessarily trying to "dial match." That said, the tweed is a single knob amp (volume only), while the silverface has a treble and bass control (the tremolo portion of the signal on this particular amp has been bypassed). I kept the treble and bass controls at "5" the entire time, so essentially straight down the middle.

As far as recording, I tracked each portion with a direct signal, and then reamped everything with the settings shown on the screen at the end.
