3 Minute Demo: Tape vs. Digital Delay

Hey Everyone! I recently picked up the Keeley Eccos digital delay and I have been loving it! I am in the process of putting together a new studio pedalboard, and I was A-B'ing the Keeley and the T-Rex when I thought this might make a good video. Haha.

So here it is -- tape versus digital! For those curious, the "A Delay" in the intro was the digital Keeley Eccos, and the "B Delay" was the T-Rex Replicator D'Luxe tape delay.

With this shootout, I thought it would be best to record a single take for each section, and then reamp that take through both pedals individually. This way, you are hearing the exact same part with the only variable being the pedal. Also, I did my best to tempo match and settings match both pedals.

It is also probably worth mentioning that I own both of these pedals, and I enjoy using both of these pedals. However, the Keeley Eccos seems like much more of a practical pedal on a board for most gigging situations. It is a much more versatile pedal with a built in looper, stereo ins and outs, modulation control, and an easy to use tap tempo; not to mention it is under half the size and half the price of the T-Rex, and has less maintenance.
