3 Minute Demo: The Brad Paisley Secret Agent Pickup by Seymour Duncan

Hello everyone! I finally received my backordered Brad Paisley Secret Agent tele pickup by Seymour Duncan, so I thought I'd make a quick video with it.

How I recorded this video: I used a Focusrite ISA One as my DI, and ran an output from that directly to my 1964 Deluxe Reverb (original, not reissue). The mics you see on the amp are a Shure SM57 and an AKG Perception 220. So, I ultimately recorded three tracks -- a DI and two mics. I typically record a DI track just in case I need to reamp later. I did not do that in this video. After listening back, I decided to scrap the SM57 track, so all you are hearing is the single AKG condenser mic in this video with no processing. I do not believe it is appropriate to do any processing on a video where I am demoing a piece of gear. The only effect on the signal is a little bit of reverb coming from the amp itself.

In hindsight, I am not sure how helpful the demonstration in the middle pickup selection is -- that sound is so subjective and dependent on the bridge pickup that is being blended with the neck pickup. However, I do think you can glean certain features of the pickup from that portion of the video, so I left it in.

Thank you to everyone for watching, and especially those of you who have subscribed and started following this page! It really helps with the growth of this page and this kind of content.

This video is not sponsored by anyone. I purchased the pickup featured in this video at full price with my own money. Please keep in mind that this is a video demo, not a review. I chose a handful of licks and pieces of songs to showcase what I believe sounds good with this pickup. It is not meant to be an all-encompassing review or endorsement of the pickup.
